Research: Narrative and Music Videos

Our music video will be purely performance based, so it doesn't have a typical narrative structure. In the video our Protagonist will be our artist, Kathy Striker, we have yet to story board our video so the narrative, or lack of narrative, is not definite. However we were thinking of using green screen to create a Kathy Striker band, where she is taking on the roles of all the band members.

Below is a basic example of a narrative structure from Ed Sheeran's video for "A Team"

We have also analysed the narrative structure of various music videos, throughout our research, for example; Taylor Swift: Mean, James Morrison: Please don't stop the rain.

Because our text is performance based, it will not be following any of the narrative theories, created by Propps, Todorovs, Barthes and Levi-Strauss
